It was a special day for the Tendulkars as Arjun Tendulkar bagged his maiden Indian Premier League (IPL) wicket and helped Mumbai Indians (MI) defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by 14 runs at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Hyderabad on Tuesday.
Helping MI register their third win of the season, Arjun bowled the pivotal 20th over of the innings while maintaining composure. He dismissed SRH’s Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the last ball of the 20th over.
After being asked to bowl the last over, the young allrounder repaid the faith shown in him by his captain and gave away only five runs, and guided his team home. Incidentally, it was Rohit Sharma who helped Arjun complete his first IPL wicket as he took the catch. As soon as he took the catch, he started running towards the youngster, pointing a finger at him, celebrating his milestone.

Later, after the game, Arjun discussed his strategies and revealed how he planned to bowl wide yorkers. He asserted that he and his father Sachin Tendulkar and have tactical discussions together. He revealed:
“My plan was to just bowl wide and get the batsmen hitting into the longer side. I was itching to bowl, yes. I love bowling and am happy to bowl any time. We [Sachin and him] talk a lot about cricket. We talk tactics and plans. I just focused on my release and the lengths I want to bowl. If it swings, it is a bonus; if it doesn’t, so be it,”
