Angry Fans Slammed BCCI’s Weak Defence On ‘Rohit And Co’s’ Controversial Outing

Angry Fans Slammed BCCI’s Weak Defence On ‘Rohit And Co’s’ Controversial Outing: Ahead of the third of the ongoing four-match Test series, Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant alongwith 3 other Indian cricketers were involved in a controversy.

On Saturday, the BCCI rubbished reports that the cricket board was investigating a violation of COVID-19 protocols by Rohit Sharma and 4 other cricketers.

It all started after a fan named Navaldeep spotted his favorite cricketers – Rishabh Pant, Rohit, Navdeep Saini, and Shubman Gill, while he was at a restaurant at the same time. He was so overwhelmed and excited after spotting his favorite cricketers that he paid their bill worth AUD 118.69 (INR 6683) and claimed that he hugged Rishabh Pant, via series of Tweets.

However, as soon as the tweets went viral on social media, the Australian media bashed Indian cricketers for breaking the bio-bubble and protocols. The Australian Cricket Board also started its investigation on the whole matter. Even the cricketers were placed in isolation away from the rest of the squad.

A senior Indian cricket board official told PTI that the visitors are well aware of the COVID-19 protocols and had not violated any of them. The official claimed:

“No, there has been no breach in bio-security protocols. Everyone associated with the Indian team is well aware of the protocols,”

Terming it as “a malicious spin by a section of Australian media”, the BCCI official rubbished all the speculations. The source said:

“We can only term it as a malicious spin by a section of Australian media and this has started after their humiliating defeat,”

The source added: “The Australian media at times acts as an extension of their cricket team,”

As per PTI, the BCCI official claimed that the 5 cricketers were in the restaurant as it was raining. The source said:

“The 5 Indian players were standing outside the restaurant and due to rain, they had gotten inside”

Meanwhile, fans on social media weren’t too impressed with the weak defense on Rohit and Co. on the controversial outing. Here, check out the reactions of Twitterati on this:

BCCI said that players went into restaurant because there was slight drizzle. You can see there is no food on the table at all. https://t.co/UrF7oYI6PX

No better way to cover up and protect their players. Wonderful. Lol I am pretty sure that the players would be safe and protected(from rain). Now this is a joke, dont come after me, just some remarks to the statement given
