One of the greatest cricketers of all time, Sachin Tendulkar would surely be proud to see his legacy live on in the form of his son, Arjun Tendulkar.
The young Tendulkar is still a teenager but if rumours are to be believed, he has some serious talent that has been passed down from his father. Arjun is a budding fast bowler and batsman and if groomed well, could become a future star of the game.
Trained by the best:
The biggest disadvantage that Arjun has is his surname, but that could also end up becoming his biggest strength if he uses it. Being Tendulkar’s son brings with it the perks of being well connected to the best of the best cricketers in the world.
Firstly, Wasim Akram has personally been present for a couple of sessions with Arjun Tendulkar and has already trained him on how to bring the ball back in to the batsman while bowling. The Sultan of swing, as Akram was called back in the day is imparting some crucial knowledge to the boy and if Arjun continues this way, he could already be ready to take part in the domestic teams.
Also, one of England’s bowling coaches, Ottis Gibson, who was also the coach of the West Indies at some point in time has trained the budding star. Arjun Tendulkar had the opportunity to bowl to the England National team during a nets session at Lord’s under the watchful eyes of the coach.
Furthermore, heavyweights such as Lara and McGrath too have at some point trained the boy and Arjun has been seen around the Mumbai Indians squad.
Batting should never be an issue as Arjun has the God himself as his father. Only time will tell whether Arjun can use all these massive resources he has at his hand to his advantage and create his own legacy in cricket.
We can’t wait to see Arjun Tendulkar in India colours.
