The much-awaited Asia Cup 2023 tournament is just around the corner as it is all set to begin from August 30. The tournament will kickstart with a clash between Pakistan and Nepal in Multan. While Pakistan will host 4 games, Sri Lanka will host the rest of the tournament, including India’s games and the final match as well.

During the tournament, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Afghanistan will compete against each other in a One-Day format. The tournament will play a major role in preparation for the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023, which will be hosted in India from October 5th onwards.

Pakistan will play group-stage stage games and one Super Four game.

ACC Announced The Official Commentators’ List

Meanwhile, the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has announced the commentator list for the multi-national tournament.  A total of 12 commentators from 5 countries will be part of the lineup.

Gautam Gambhir, Ravi Shastri, Sanjay Manjrekar, Irfan Pathan, and Deep Dasgupta are the commentators selected from India.

Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, Bazid Khan, and Ramiz Raja are selected from Pakistan. While Athar Ali Khan will represent Bangladesh, Russell Arnold will represent co-hosts Sri Lanka. Scott Styris will act as a neutral commentator.

While a star-studded line-up for the Asia Cup 2023 has been announced by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), however, there is one startling exclusion. Former Indian opener Aakash Chopra has not been included in the commentator’s list despite his huge reach on social media platforms.

Aakash Chopra has been one of the key members of the commentary line-up for India for the last few years and this is the reason his exclusion has come out as a big shock to his fans.
