Pakistan captain Babar Azam is getting praise from everyone for his great gesture of respect for veteran Afghanistan all-rounder Mohammad Nabi.
During the PAK vs AFG World Cup 2023 game on Monday in Chennai, when Babar Azam was batting his shoelaces got untied when he reached the non-striker’s end after taking a run. The bowler at the time, Mohammad Nabi, saw it and came near Babar Azam and even bent low to tie Babar’s shoelace.
While initially, it seemed that Babar was looking for someone to tie his shoelace so that he didn’t have to remove his gloves, upon seeing that Mohammad Nabi, a veteran cricketer and also older than him in age, was trying to help, Babar refused to allow Nabi to tie his shoelace as a mark of respect for the veteran cricketer.
Both Babar and Nabi then shared a smile before Babar removed his gloves to tie his own shoelace. The video of this brief, yet sweet moment where both cricketers reflected the respet they have for each other has gone viral.
