Team India’s talismanic skipper MS Dhoni turned 40 yesterday (June 7) and wishes poured in from all quarters. From cricketers to fans around the world, experts to fans around the world, everyone took to social media to wish Captain Cool on his birthday.
While fans couldn’t stop talking about Dhoni on social media, no one would have expected a birthday wish to leave a bad taste in the mouth.
Well, England’s Barmy Army did exactly the same as they shared MS Dhoni’s picture from India’s lost encounter against England from the ODI World Cup 2019. Barmy Army took to their official Twitter handle and shared an image of MS Dhoni walking back to the Pavillion after hosts England sealed the Edgbaston clash by 31 runs. Sharing the image, Barmy Army wrote:
“Happy Birthday MS, some amazing battles over the years”

Talking about that match against the ODI World Cup 2019, England set a mammoth 338 for the win, India could manage 306/5 to endure their first(and the only) defeat in the league stage.
Well, the tweet went viral in no time and was flooded with reactions from twitterati on this. The birthday wish, for obvious reasons, didn’t go down well with the fans, who gave it back to the Barmy Army by reminding them of some memorable battles from the past.
including moments like India celebrating after handing England a defeat in the Champions Trophy final in 2013, India-England’s thrilling encounter from the latter’s tour in 2016-17, and many more. On the other hand, there were many who came up with hilarious memes and jokes while replying to the tweet.
