England’s experienced cricketer Ben Stokes ran through a heartbreaking defeat in the second Test match against the New Zealand cricket team in Wellington. The New Zealand cricket team pulled off a heist as they defeated England by 1 run.

This was also Ben Stokes’ first defeat as England’s Test captain. The two-match Test series between England and New Zealand ended at 1-1, with both teams winning a game each.

Meanwhile, England cricketer Ben Stokes, on Monday, confirmed that he will play for Chennai Super Kings in the sixteenth edition of the Indian Premier League despite his knee injury issues.

Ben Stokes Confirms He Will Play IPL 2023

In what comes as a massive boost to Chennai Super Kings, Ben Stokes has confirmed that he will be taking part in the upcoming season of the IPL. For the record, the all-rounder was struggling with a knee injury woes during the two-match Test series against New Zealand in New Zealand.

Ben Stokes could bowl only two overs in the second Test which ended in favour of New Zealand. The all-rounder was in discomfort as he was going through immense pain in his knee when batting in the second Test.

Stokes scored 27 runs in the first innings and then hit 33 runs in the second innings. He survived 116 balls before he was dismissed. Chennai Super Kings purchased Ben Stokes for INR 16.25 crore at the IPL 2023 mini-auction in Kochi.

The upcoming season of the IPL will get underway on March 31 whereas the final will be played on May 28. Meanwhile, Ben Stokes said he has been discussing his workload management with CSK head coach Stephen Fleming.

“I am going to the IPL. I have had conversations with ‘Flem’ and he’s fully aware of the situation with my body. It’s a week-by-week case at the moment,” Ben Stokes said after the second Test match.
