Bharat Army Trolled England’s Barmy Army In An Epic Way: Jasprit Bumrah continued his elevation in world cricket as one of the best pacers ever after he registered his career-best ODI bowling figures of 6/19 in the first ODI vs England on Tuesday at The Oval.

The 28-year-old speedster produced a magical bowling display – 7.2 overs, 3 maidens, conceded 19 runs and took 6 wickets – as the reigning ODI World Champions crumbled for only 110 – England’s lowest-ever ODI total against India – in 25.2 overs. Mohammed Shami took three wickets while Prasidh Krishna had one to his name.

Jasprit Bumrah registered his best ODI bowling figures

Bumrah and Shami wreaked havoc in the first 10 overs, effectively sealing the game in the first powerplay itself. Amongst the bigger scalps, Bumrah dismissed Jason Roy, Joe Root, Jonny Bairstow and Liam Livingstone while Shami got rid of Ben Stokes, and Jos Buttler. Bumrah returned to clean things up, casting tailenders David Willey and Bryson Carse.

This was only Bumrah’s second five-wicket haul in his ODI career so far. But, with bowling figures of 6/19, he recorded the third-best ever bowling performance by an Indian bowler in ODI cricket – only behind Stuart Binny’s 6/4 vs Bangladesh in 2014 and Anil Kumble’s 6/12 vs West Indies in 1993.

India’s Bharat Army hilariously trolls England’s Barmy Army

The banter off the field between Indians and English continued as India’s Bharat Army hilariously trolled England’s Barmy Army (the two groups supporting their respective cricket teams) on Twitter using the latter’s tweet on Bumrah from last year.

The Barmy Army had sarcastically tweeted “Who is this Bumrah chap?” on October 18, 2021 when Bumrah had bowled well against England during a warm-up match encounter at the T20 World Cup in UAE.

The Bharat Army now brought that tweet up again with a snap from today’s clash where Bumrah is smiling and celebrating with his teammates after taking one of those six wickets.
