[VIDEO] Birthday Boy Litton Das Shocked As Trent Boult Gets Him For Golden Duck

It was a forgettable innings for birthday boy Litton Das as he succumbed to the new-ball expertise of Trent Boult and bagged a golden duck. A golden duck on your birthday is something Litton Das would not want to remember at all.

New Zealand defeated Bangladesh convincingly by 8 wickets on Friday in Chennai. The Kiwis were given a perfect start by their ace swing bowler, Trent Boult, as the left-arm pacer got rid of Litton Das on the first ball of the match.

While Boult is arguably the best new-ball bowler in the world, Litton, too, would count himself a bit unlucky for the manner he got out, and also would lament his shot selection to an extent.

Litton had scored a brilliant fifty in the previous match against England when he showed his attacking instincts. So he decided to do the same against New Zealand.

He took a couple of steps down the pitch to show some aggression to Trent Boult – poor tactic in the first place to go after perhaps the best swing bowler in the world on the first ball. The ball swung into his hips and Litton played a leg glance.

However, he timed it just enough to reach the fine leg fielder – and didn’t time it well enough to clear the ropes – Matt Henry didn’t have to move much and took a simple catch down his throat. Litton Das stood distraught at getting out for a golden duck on his 29th birthday.

Lockie Ferguson took three wickets, Boult and Henry both took two wickets each as Bangladesh managed only 245 runs.

The chase was made very comfortable for New Zealand by their captain Kane Williamson, who scored 78 runs. Daryl Mitchell cracked 89* runs to see off the chase with 43 balls to spare and 8 wickets in hand. The Kiwis are at the top of the points table with 3 wins in as many games.
