Boult admired Bumrah and praised his mindset, suggesting that every bowler should take note of it. He believes that if bowlers can adopt Bumrah’s mindset, they’ll likely achieve success.
“There is a guy called Jasprit Bumrah who’ll come up against us tonight who is the leader for whoever is trying to get better. I think he’s the template. If we have the mindset like him to try and keep getting better, I think we’ll be in the right place,” Boult was quoted as saying by IndiaToday.
He added: “This year’s been very exciting, the crowds are getting what they want. I have read a few things from the experts and I agree with it that it’s a good opportunity for the bowlers to showcase their worth, find ways to get better.”
In the match between Rajasthan Royals and Mumbai Indians, Royals restricted Mumbai to 179 runs in the first innings. Tilak Varma and Nehal Wadhera were the standout performers for Mumbai, scoring 65 and 49 runs, respectively.
For Royals, Sandeep Sharma was the top wicket-taker with five wickets. Boult claimed two wickets, while Avesh Khan and Yuzvendra Chahal took one each.
Chasing the target, Yashasvi Jaiswal led RR to a remarkable victory with an unbeaten 104 runs off 60 balls. Jos Buttler contributed a quick 35, and Sanju Samson remained not out on 38 runs as Rajasthan Royals won by nine wickets.
