Ravichandran Ashwin gave a hilarious moment to all the cricket fans across the world when he thought of a reviewing a clean-bowled dismissal in the first innings of the ongoing Test match between India and New Zealand.
It happened when Ajaz Patel bowled a brilliant delivery that spun away from Ravichandran Ashwin’s bat after pitching and clipped the off-stump after missing the bat. As soon as the ball clipped the off-stump, New Zealand players and Ajaz Patel started celebrating and Ashwin thought they were appealing for a caught behind.
Ashwin looked up and signalled towards the umpire to review it, but he immediately regretted it when he looked back to see that the stumps were shattered. This hilarious moment triggered a meme fest on social media and fans across the world started sharing clips, jokes and memes related to it.
Ravichandran Ashwin he was either stumped or given out as caught behind to the keeper, but when the on-field umpires checked the decision with an umpire referral in which the replays showed that the ball hit the stumps.
