Cameron Green Will Earn More Than Rohit Sharma: The much-awaited 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League is all set to kickstart in less than two weeks’ time. The upcoming season will see the return of the IPL to its original home-and-away format after a long gap of four years.

Ahead of IPL 2023, a mini-auction was held in Kochi last year, where many talented cricketers from around the world earned lucrative deals.

Among many, a 23-year-old all-rounder earned a whopping deal of INR 17.50 crores. The talented right-handed batter hails from Australia and he has impressed one and all with his performances. Besides being the amazing batter that he is, he is also a very handy medium pacer, who is all set to make his IPL debut this year for the five-time champions — Mumbai Indians.

Well, we are talking about none other than the very talented Cameron Green. But do you know that this 23-year-old all-rounder will earn more than his captain — Rohit Sharma?

Cameron Green

Yes, Rohit, who has been with MI since IPL 2011 and has been leading the side for more than a decade now, was retained by the Mumbai-based franchise ahead of the auctions for INR 16 crore. However, the owners of the team went all in for this Green at the mini-auction, whom they bought for INR 17.50 crores after an intense bidding war.

With this amazing deal, Green became the highest-paid player in the history of MI and also the second-most expensive buy ever in the history of this league.

While Rohit will get INR 16 crore as his IPL 2023 salary, Green will receive a whopping INR 17.50 crore. The next in line is 24-year-old Ishan Kishan, who was signed for Rs 15.25 crore in the 2022 mega auctions and was retained this year.

Meanwhile, with this amazing line-up, the Rohit Sharma-led MI will look forward to winning their sixth IPL trophy. They had a forgettable season last year as they finished at the bottom of the points table for the first time in 15 years.
