CPL 2020 Fantasy Cricket Tips: Match 22, Barbados Tridents Vs Guyana Amazon Warriors
The defending champions Barbados Tridents have already lost 5 games this season and there is no room for any more losses going ahead. To give themselves any chance of finishing in top 4, the Tridents need to win all their remaining games, it’s as simple as that.
Guyana Amazon Warriors are in a slightly more comfortable position in the sense that a loss here wouldn’t end their campaign, but at this stage of the tournament when the playoffs are approaching, they wouldn’t want to lose a game.
Here are our fantasy cricket tips for match 21 of CPL 2020 –
Pitch Report
This will be the second game of the day and will take place on the same deck as the first game. So, it’s possible that the deck might slow down a little bit, however it would still be a fresh deck considering this is the first day of the third round of games starting at Brian Lara Cricket Academy.
This match might be a slightly high scoring one after a string of low scoring games at Queen’s Park Oval in the recent days.
Predicted XI of both teams
Guyana Amazon Warriors
Brandon King, Kevin Sinclair, Shimron Hetmyer, Nicholas Pooran (WK), Ross Taylor, Keemo Paul, Chris Green (C), Naveen-ul-Haq, Romario Shepherd, Imran Tahir and Ashmead Nedd
Barbados Tridents
Shai Hope, Johnson Charles (WK), Kyle Mayers, Jason Holder (C), Corey Anderson, Ashley Nurse, Shamarh Brooks, Hayden Walsh, Rashid Khan, Mitchell Santner and Raymon Reifer
Top Picks
Nicholas Pooran’s 45-ball hundred in the last game against St Kitts was probably the greatest hundred ever in the CPL. On a surface which was extremely difficult for stroke-play, the way Pooran hit sixes against the spinners both off the front and the back foot, nobody would have any doubt in his mind that he is going to rule T20 cricket in the coming years.
While Pooran would be an automatic pick from the wicket-keepers’ category, it would be wise to go with another wicket-keeper in the form of Johnson Charles who has also been in fantastic form with the bat right since the beginning of this tournament.
While Barbados Tridents have not clicked collectively as a team at all this season so far, one of the players who have really gone from strength of strength in his role as a top order batsman for Barbados is Kyle Mayers. He will again be someone on whom Barbados’s chances will rely a lot.
While Rashid Khan and Ashley Nurse are listed as bowlers in the fantasy and will definitely be crucial with the ball, their batting is also going to be crucial from Tridents’ point of view. The Tridents management might use the duo slightly up the order in this game as they are capable enough to clear the fence against both pace and spin.
Captaincy pick: Nicholas Pooran
Vice-captaincy pick: Kyle Mayers
Fantasy XI: Johnson Charles, Nicholas Pooran (C), Shimron Hetmyer, Brandon King, Sherfane Rutherford, Jason Holder, Mitchell Santner, Kyle Mayers, Rashid Khan, Ashley Nurse, Imran Tahir
