Chennai Super Kings paid an emotional tribute to their captain, MS Dhoni on his 15-year anniversary of joining the franchise. The legendary keeper-batter completed 15 years together and the Chennai-based franchise took to their social media to pay an emotional tribute to the legend.
Chennai Super Kings took to their official Twitter account and wrote: “The happening of a phenomenon 15 years ago! When Thala stepped into our lives in Yellove! #WhistlePodu #VaaThala #Yellove.”

Meanwhile, Dhoni has already kickstarted the training ahead of the 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League. Though, he has already retired from international cricket however his stocks have not dipped at all. He is still the biggest name in Indian cricket and the IPL, having led the Yellow-army to four titles — 2010, 2011, 2018, and 2022. Thala is the second most successful captain in IPL history.
Dhoni is gearing up for another season of the IPL, however, this is going to be his last season in the cash-rich league.
Yes, the stage is all set. Thala MS Dhoni will play his farewell match on May 14 at the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai.
“Yes, it will be MS’s last season as a player. That is what we know so far. But of course, it’s his decision. He hasn’t officially communicated to the management that he will go into retirement. It is a special occasion for all CSK fans as IPL returns to Chennai. But it will be a sad moment if Dhoni plays his final season,” a CSK official told InsideSport.
On Friday, as the BCCI announced the schedule for the upcoming 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League, it set the stage for Dhoni’s final match. If the Yellow-army does not qualify for the playoffs, he will play his last game against Kolkata Knight Riders. CSK will open its campaign against defending champions Gujarat Titans.
