In the 21st century, rarely has an Indian batsman as young and as new to international cricket as Shubman Gill been in such surreal form as the opener has been since last year across formats.
After pushing out Shikhar Dhawan from the ODI team, the 23-year-old is now likely to take place of KL Rahul from the Test side.
Gill had a terrific 2022 in ODIs, a year which he ended with a maiden Test ton in December in Bangladesh, and cemented his place in the ODI side. The right-hander then cracked three centuries, including a double hundred, in 6 ODIs, before recording his maiden T20I century.
Shubman Gill was also phenomenal in IPL 2022: Gill was the 5th highest run-scorer with 483 runs, helping Gujarat Titans win the IPL.
During this supreme form, Shubman Gill hit a number of majestic shots.
Here are 7 best sixes from Shubman Gill in his career so far:

Bowler: Josh Hazlewood
Very new to international cricket, Shubman Gill faced Australia on the 2020/21 tour. There, in one of the ODI games, Gill pulled the lanky Australian seamer Josh Hazlewood for a maximum on the leg side.
It was a back of length ball from Hazlewood on the leg-stump which Gill deposited handsomely over deep square leg.
Hayden Walsh Jr
To leg-spinner Hayden Walsh Jr, Shubman Gill stepped out to a floated delivery and with all his power and brilliant timing, the batter sent the ball deep into the stands over long-on. The commentator gasped at the shot- for even the commentator would have been surprised with Gill’s power.
Mitchell Starc

Gill’s 91 in that epic win during a successful chase at the Gabba will always be one of the best knocks from the opener. Facing the likes of Starc, Cummins, and Hazlewood, Gill flourished spectacular in his debut Test series, showing the world what is to come in the coming years.
To a short and wide delivery from Starc, Gill rocked on the back foot and disdainfully smacked a cut shot. The ball went sailing over the deep third man boundary, and the crowd up on its feet. Once again, a young Gill shocked everyone with the power that belied his age.
Reece Topley
Although it was practice match ahead of the Test match against England, there was a sizeable crowd to watch the Indians play. And Gill amazed them all when he flicked Topley for a six; just a flick of his pads, his powerful wrist and its work coming to fore.
Sean Abbott
Sean Abbott is one of the best domestic bowlers in the Australian circuit. However, when he came across Shubman Gill in a practise game – which by no means was a practice game as all players played with full intensity – the senior Aussie pacer was shown that a young and emergent Shubman Gill wasn’t afraid of anyone.
To a short ball from Abbott, Gill planted his backfoot and clattered a pull for a maximum. The sweet, strong sound of the middle of the bat hitting the ball roaring in the empty stands.
Unknown
In one of thepractise matches in England, Shubman Gill upper cut a seamer who had tried to bounce Gill out. However, the young opener used his gifts of timing, judged the length and line of the short ball quickly and smartly played the upper cut as the ball flew over the slips and over the boundary.
Mitchell Starc
And finally Mitchell Starc again, in what perhaps is the most fiercely hit sixer from Shubman Gill. In that same historic knock at the Gabba, Gill took down Starc with a merciless, disdainful pull shot sixer to a short ball from the left-arm speedster.
