Chennai Super Kings (CSK) defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by 8 runs on Monday at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium despite an amazing effort by Faf du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell. Coming out to bat first, CSK put up a big total of 226 runs on the scoreboard, riding on the half-centuries of Devon Conway and Shivam Dubey, and a crucial cameo by Moeen Ali in the finishing overs.
In reply, RCB made the worst possible start as they lost their star batter Virat Kohli and Mahipal Lomror early. However, Faf du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell brought the much-needed momentum back to the innings.
Faf Played A Stunning Knock
Faf du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell put on an electrifying performance that kept RCB in the running for the win. Faf played a captain’s knock as he scored 62 runs off 33 balls, smashing 5 fours and 4 sixes. He was dismissed in the 14th over by Moeen Ali.
Faf once again proved his mastery in the game, however, his efforts went in vain as RCB lost the game by 8 runs.
Meanwhile, watching du Plessis, who was once everyone’s favorite on CSK, play against them made the Chennai fans miss him like crazy. It was a bittersweet moment for the CSK fans as they couldn’t be more proud of their team and their former player who continues to dominate the game with his batting prowess.
