Deepak Chahar has faced his share of bad luck with injuries, causing him to miss several matches for the Indian cricket team. Despite this, he has performed admirably whenever given the chance.
Deepak Chahar Gave A Big Update About His Health Ahead Of IPL 2024
Recently, Chahar was named in the Indian squad for the T20I series against Australia and South Africa. However, he had to withdraw from the series to care for his sick father, who was hospitalized. Now, he is back to training diligently for future opportunities.
Deepak Chahar is set to return to action in the upcoming IPL season with the Chennai Super Kings. His presence will be crucial for the team, especially given their relatively inexperienced fast-bowling lineup.
For Chahar, the upcoming edition of the IPL holds immense personal importance as he aims to showcase his abilities after enduring a string of injuries that sidelined him from significant cricket. Additionally, with the T20 World Cup 2024 on the horizon, this IPL presents a valuable opportunity for him to stake his claim for a spot in the national team.
Speaking in a video interaction with Aakash Chopra, Chahar revealed: “Fitness is pretty well. When you haven’t played for long and are short of practice, you cannot play directly. You want to do well on your return. If you haven’t played for over 1 month then it takes time to get back to rhythm. I started playing after my father got well and but there hasn’t been any series so far as well.”
Deepak Chahar elaborated on his preparations for IPL 2024, emphasizing that with no series to focus on, he is fully focused on the upcoming league. He said:
“Whatever is there is IPL now so preparations are going on for that only. You generally don’t get this much time. If you are injured then you have to do rehab as well and are trying to reach your strengths. But when you are fully fit then you improve. During that time you need to make sure you utilise it well.”
