WTC 2023 Final : Dinesh Karthik Made A Huge Prediction For The Summit Clash

WTC 2023 Final : The Rohit Sharma-led Indian cricket team has qualified for the World Test Championship final after they defeated mighty Australia by 2-1 in the recently concluded 4-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy and New Zealand defeated Sri Lanka in the first match of the 2-game series.

Now Team India will now meet Australia once again at the WTC final, which will take place on June 7th at The Oval.

The sensational duo of Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin has impressed one and all with their amazing performance throughout the BGT 2023. Now ahead of the upcoming wTC final, the big question is whether both the spin bowling all-rounders will be featuring in the all-important summit clash.

Dinesh Karthik Made A Big Prediction For WTC 2023 Final

Meanwhile, ahead of the WTC final, the current Indian and Royal Challengers Bengaluru keeper-batter Dinesh Karthik feel that keeping the conditions of England in mind, it is likely that either Ravindra Jadeja or R Ashwin might have to sit out.

He also pointed out the big mistake team India made during the previous WTC Final that India played against New Zealand. He said:

“To be honest, that’s where the Indian team made a mistake last time playing both spinners and they didn’t bowl them much. It’s a one-off game. You can’t look at it in the bigger scheme of things. It’s a year-end match for a lot of the players in many ways as after that there will be a fresh cycle. So you have to go into the match thinking ‘what is my best XI to win that game?’ If that means leaving Ashwin or Jadeja out, so be it. We’ve always seen Jadeja get the nod ahead because he can bat better,”

Further, Dinesh Karthik also talked about Axar Patel’s chances of playing at the summit clash. He believes that Axar will in all likelihood miss out from the marquee clash in June as the team management would pick Shardul Thakur over him. He said:

“To be brutally honest if everybody is fit, especially if Ashwin and Jadeja are fit, you will have to say that Axar will miss out. I think Shardul will take his place,”
