Veteran wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik has made a stellar return to the Indian cricket team after a long gap of three years, riding on the back of his outstanding performances with the bat in the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).
Dinesh Karthik played a huge role in RCB’s success as he turned out to be the best finisher in the IPL 2022. He had publicly talked about his goal of making a return to team India and winning the T20 World Cup.
DK made a return to the playing XI for the Rishabh Pant-led side in the ongoing 5-match T20I series. Though, he got just 2 balls to face, however, he showcased his finishing skills in the second T20I match.
During the 2nd T20I match, the Indian cricket team could only score 148/6 on the board after being asked to bat first. The Indian batting line-up collapsed miserably with Shreyas Iyer’s 35-ball 40 emerging as the highest individual score from the Indian side.
Meanwhile, ahead of the second T20I match against South Africa, DK played a fun ‘this or that’ game in a video for the official BCCI website. From choosing team dinner overnights with the teammates and tea over coffee, DK talked about a lot of things.

He was also asked about what he would do if gets a superpower. Responding to this, DK expressed that if given a superpower to read minds then he would get into the mind of MS Dhoni.
“If given ability to fly, I would fly to Alaska. Have heard great things about Alaska. and, if I am given the ability to read minds, then definitely get into the mind of MS Dhoni,”

Meanwhile, talking about the second T20I match, India lost the game despite a fearless finish by Karthik in India’s innings. India lost the second match in the ongoing 5-match T20I series with South Africa going 2-0 up in the ongoing series.
