MI vs RCB: Faf du Plessis Takes A Brilliant Diving Catch To Dismiss Hrithik Shokeen

In the Indian Premier League, Faf du Plessis has made an impressive collection of breathtaking catches (IPL). In the ongoing match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and MI at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, the former South African captain took a world-class catch.

To add insult to injury, the RCB captain caught Hrithik Shokeen and threw him back into the game. To get the infield out of the way, Shokeen lofted a drive over mid-off on the first ball of the 18th over, which was bowled by Harshal Patel.

Shokeen also made a solid contact with the ball, and it appeared as though it would escape the fielders and race to the fence. However, Faf du Plessis argued otherwise. The RCB star took a leftward jog, kept his gaze on the ball until the very last second, and jumped at the precise moment to catch it over his left shoulder. Faf du Plessis went to the ground to make the catch, but he kept a firm hold on the ball the whole time.

MI has an extremely difficult total.

Despite a slow start, MI was able to put up a formidable total of 171-7 in the allotted 20 overs. After being asked to bat first, Mumbai quickly found themselves at 20 for 3 and then 48 for 4. Even the 150-run mark seemed out of reach at one point for the 5-time victors.

Tilak Varma, however, fought alone and led Mumbai to a respectable score. The southpaw batted unbeaten for 84, hitting 9 fours and 4 sixes off of 46 balls.
