Faf du Plessis Gave A Big Update On His Injury And Further Participation In IPL 2023

Faf du Plessis Gave A Big Update On His Injury: Chennai Super Kings thrashed Royal Challengers Bangalore by 8 runs in a thriller last night and climbed to the 3rd place in the IPL 2023 points table with 6 points with an NRR (net run rate) of +0.26. RCB captain Faf du Plessis, who played a stunning knock against CSK, would be utterly disappointed with the defeat.

Faf Played A Stunning Knock

After a brilliant batting show, CSK put up their 3rd highest total in the history of the Indian Premier League. Though the target of 227 runs was a lot of runs to chase but the way the ball was coming onto the bat, it wasn’t impossible. However, some tactical errors by RCB batters and some smart death bowling by the likes of Tushar Deshpande and Matheesha Pathirana helped CSK thrash RCB on their home ground.

RCB’s captain Faf du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell put on an electrifying performance that kept RCB in the running for the win.  Faf played a captain’s knock as he scored 62 runs off 33 balls, smashing 5 fours and 4 sixes. He was dismissed in the 14th over by Moeen Ali.

Faf once again proved his mastery in the game, however, not many are aware of the fact that he was dealing with a lot of pain.

During his knock, Faf was seen getting heavily strapped around his stomach after the 13th over. Known for his chiseled physique, several pictures of his abs have gone insanely viral on social media.

While the exact nature of his injury remained unknown throughout the match, du Plessis provided all the details whilst speaking at the post-match presser. The extent of the injury, however, wasn’t discussed at all which hints that Faf would be playing their next game against Punjab Kings in Mohali on Thursday. He said:

“Early on in the match, I was diving around and I thought I went at it with my rib, that was the cause of discomfort,

He added:”I lost a little bit of power towards the end, was disappointed as I got stiff,”
