The great ‘wall’ of Indian cricket, i.e, Rahul Dravid, the former Indian skipper is celebrating his 47th birthday today. Rahul Dravid is one of the finest batsmen to have ever played for India. Known for his solid technique, Dravid made his debut in 1996 against England at Lords and went on to become a stalwart figure in India.

With over 24000 international runs and 489 centuries, Rahul Dravid is one of the few cricketers who went on to prove their mettle in all the three formats of the game in both overseas and home games.

Rahul Dravid, who is fondly called as ‘The Wall’ of Indian cricket team still continues to be a flag-bearer of Indian cricket. He is handing his services for the betterment of Indian Cricket by preparing the younger generation for the world cricket.

For his impeccable performances for team India, Dravid was named ICC Cricketer of the Year in 2004 and was honored with Arjuna Award in 1998, Padma Shree in 2004 and the Padma Bhushan in 2013. Not just this, Rahul Dravid’s name was also included in the ICC Hall of Fame for his contribution to the Indian cricket.

Even the entire Indian cricket fraternity – starting from the present stars to the legendary cricketers, everyone joined the league to wish the Wall on his birthday.

Even the BCCI also paid tributes to the Indian cricketer by posting a throwback video of Dravid’s one of the best ODI performance. Sharing the video on Twitter, BCCI wrote:
