Fans Posted Disrespectful Tweets For Murali Kartik And His Commentary: After a long wait, amidst the pandemic, the much-awaited edition of the Indian Premier League finally kickstarted with a bang with a thrilling start between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.
Ahead of the high-octane tournament, Star Sports announced their list of commentators for both Hindi and English. While most of the names were ‘acceptable’ for those who watch the matches regularly, however, one name that didn’t impress the fans was Murali Kartik.
Over the years, Murali Kartik has become a regular face at the commentator box as he has become an integral part of the regular rotation of English-speaking Indian commentators. He has covered some of the most crucial and iconic games of the Indian cricket team.
However, Murali Kartik time and again has failed to impress the fans with his voice behind the microphone. Fans often take to their social media to express their disappointment with Kartik’s commentary. And as soon as the IPL commentators’ list came out, fans flooded the social media with their tweets expressing their disappointment.
The fans were also quick to notice Kartik’s mistakes while delivering information about the match in the commentary box. For instance, it was just a few days ago during the final ODI match between India and England when Murali announced that Tom Curran had struck a half-century, whereas it was his brother Sam Curran, who had scored 50. Kartik was later on corrected by someone on live television.

It’s Murali Kartik. He will ask all sorts of cliched stuff but not the relevant ones. He still gets the toss and presentation duties which is beyond me!

Murali Kartik is now making a habit of making statistical mistakes during commentary.
