Be it on-field or off-field, Ravichandran Ashwin has never shied away from expressing his emotions. And when it comes to giving it back to the opposition, time and again, Ravichandran Ashwin has stolen the show with his brilliance in this. Who can forget the epic Mankad incident during the IPL 2019?

Ravichandran Ashwin is very active on his social media and often the fans get to see R.Ashwin taking down on the opponents with his tweets.

On Tuesday, Ravichandran Ashwin was involved in a heated banter with a fan on micro-blogging site Twitter after the cricketer made a tweet in regard to the pollution in Chennai in the wake of Bhogi festival. Expressing his concern over the issue, R Ashwin wrote:

Massive smog in Chennai this morning owing to Bhogi burning, entire nose getting blocked and black discharges later in the day. I am not sure if it”s worth spoiling the planet further in the name of traditions. There has to be a way to educate everyone and make them understand,

Here, check out his Tweet:

Well, the air pollution in Chennai increased because Bhogi festival as people celebrating this festival lighted bonfires which contributed to the increase in pollution. The Air Quality Index (AQI) went 170 in the city the next day.

R Ashwin’s tweet was apt and there were many who agreed with him. However, there was this one person who disagreed with R Ashwin’s tweet and tried to slam him by ranting about traditions. He wrote:

“One day 8000kgs of crackers burnt for new year celebration.. is valid..but following tradition for one day is Invalid. Usually the kathir of paddy and the cow dung will be burnt in the past.”

Here, check out the tweet:

R Ashwin was quick to take notice of the tweet and come up with a very sensible reply, in which he cleared that he is not saying whether celebrating festivals is right or wrong but they should be handled with care. He wrote:

“Look I am not saying one is right and the other is wrong, all I am saying is things that will affect the environment needs to be handled with care.”

Here, check out the reply of R. Ashwin:
