“It’s A Tactical Failure” Fans Troll Chennai Super Kings For Their Defeat Against Sunrisers Hyderabad

During a recent IPL 2024 match in Hyderabad, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) faced off against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). The home team has come out on top by 6 wickets. CSK put up a good fight, but SRH managed to chase down their score of 165 in just 18.1 overs.

CSK was in a tough spot, dealing with another defeat away from home. The pitch proved to be quite difficult for CSK’s batting lineup. The slow nature restricted their ability to display their power. SRH took advantage of this opportunity. They really kicked off their innings on a strong note in the powerplay. They were fully aware that the challenges would only grow as the game went on.

Abhishek Sharma, Travis Head, and Aiden Markram were absolutely unstoppable. They launched a relentless assault on the opposition CSK bowling attack by scoring a whopping 78 runs in the first six overs. With such an incredible start, they practically secured victory right from the beginning. Even though Moeen Ali put in a commendable effort to turn things around for CSK with a brilliant spell, it unfortunately wasn’t enough.

The batters from CSK had a tough time making a significant impact, except for Shivam Dube. He managed to score 45 runs off just 24 balls. He injected some much-needed momentum during the middle overs. After Dube’s departure, CSK’s scoring rate took a noticeable dip. Rahane, Jadeja, and Mitchell struggled to scored the boundaries as it was very tough to strike the older ball.

If it weren’t for their early blitz, SRH might have encountered some challenges in their chase. Nevertheless, their blistering and quick start ensured they were ahead of the required run rate throughout the innings. It ultimately led them to a comfortable victory.

After the game, CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad said: “I think to be honest, it was a slow pitch, They bowled well in the back-end, kept the game in control and didn’t allow us to capitalize. I thought we did well in the beginning (of the match), but they came back well later. It was a black soil pitch, so we expected the pitch to be slower, but it became slower and slower, and they used the boundary size well. We conceded too many in the batting PP, one dropped catch and one expensive over. Still, to take them to the 19th over was a great effort. I thought anything around 170-175 would’ve been a good total for us. There was a bit of dew towards the end, but Moeen got the ball to spin even in the 15th-16th over. So I don’t think the pitch changed a lot during the course of the game.”
