Chennai Super Kings successfully chased down a 171-run target in just 15 overs to clinch their 5th trophy in the Indian Premier League.
The three-day affair went down to the very last ball of the competition. Star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja pulled off a miraculous win against Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
As the game started, CSK captain MS Dhoni won the toss and opted to bat first. Gujarat Titans posted a huge target of 214 runs, riding on the sensational knock of 96 runs from the bat of Sai Sudharsan. Later, the game was affected by the rain and as a result, it was cut down to 15 overs with CSK needing 171 for victory.
CSK needed just 13 runs off the final over of the IPL 2023. Mohit Sharma, who became Hardik Pandya’s go-to man in the season, was sensational with the ball last night as well. He rocked the CSK’s chase with the crucial wickets of Ambati Rayudu and MS Dhoni but Ravindra Jadeja stayed calm. The equation came down to CSK needing 10 off 2 against a confident Mohit Sharma, Jadeja smashed him for a 6 and a four to seal the deal for his side.
