Gautam Gambhir Hailed Virat Kohli For His ‘Longevity And Consistency’

Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir once had a strong on-field bond, notably remembered for their partnership in the game where Virat scored his first ODI hundred against Sri Lanka. In that match, Gambhir also notched up his highest individual score in the format, making 150 off 137 balls. It was after the same game when Gautam Gambhir gave up his Man of the Match award and requested Virat Kohli to collect it as he had scored his first ODI hundred.

However, the first sign of tension between the two surfaced during an IPL 2013 match when Virat got out, and Gambhir gave him an aggressive send-off. The two Delhi players have clashed in the IPL, representing rival teams. Virat Kohli has been with the Royal Challengers Bangalore throughout his IPL career, while Gautam Gambhir once captained the Kolkata Knight Riders. The intense rivalry between the two teams has resulted in occasional altercations between Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir.
