James Anderson’s remarks about Virat Kohli’s technique after Day 4 of the recently concluded Test match between India and England at the Wankhede stadium in Mumbai. When reporters asked him about Virat Kohli’s double-hundred, Anderson took a dig at Kohli and said that his technique, which got exposed the last time India toured England to play Test cricket, hides behind the slow-low pitches in India.

When the whole cricketing world was hailing Virat Kohli, Anderson’s lose statement didn’t go that well with the fans and cricketing fraternity. Many fans and cricketers took to social media to express their anger towards James Anderson. Former South African captain Graeme Smith didn’t mince his words and took a dig at James Anderson. Smith, who is one of the best captains in cricket history, tweeted this after James Anderson’s statement about Virat Kohli’s technique:

“Is #jimmyanderson saying he can only bowl in English conditions? #kohli #IndvsEng.”

Former England captain Michael Vaughan also didn’t like James Anderson’s statement and called it naive.

“Jimmy came out last night and showed no experience with the Indian press. You know what you’re getting with the Indian press – they’ll make one small comment into a huge headline. For him to say Virat’s technique’s not changed and it’s just the conditions here that suit his style of play – it’s so naive,” Michael Vaughan said.
