Harbhajan Singh, one of the finest spinners our Indian cricket team had. When he used to bowl, he used to make the batsmen on the other side run for their money. Recently, in an interview, Harbhajan Singh was asked who he thinks is the best fielders produced by India.

Harbhajan Singh, without thinking much took the name of Mohammad Kaif and he was all praises for the cricketer. Mohammad Kaif, the former Indian cricketer was a livewire on the field and he was indeed one of the best when it comes to fielding. Mohammad Kaif took retirement from his career on July 13, 2018.

Harbhajan Singh and Mohammad Kaif have played together for a long time, while talking to Sportstar, Harbhajan Singh said :
“He gave his 100 per cent in whatever he did. Be it batting, bowling or fielding. He was the one who worked extremely hard on his fielding and he was the best we had,”
He also went on to add that Mohammad Kaif was next best fielder after Azhar, he said :
“Kaif took the lead on the field. He was the best after Mohammad Azharuddin when it came to fielding,”

He added :
“I met him for the first time in Lucknow during a U-16 match where he scored some 70-80 runs. I wish him a much better life,”
However, Harbhajan believes that Mohammad Kaif made the most of his opportunities that came his way. He said :
“It is all about the right opportunities. I agree that he could have played a bit more cricket for India, but he made the most of what came his way. He was a committed cricketer. But yes, Thoda Aur Khel Sakta Tha Woh (he could have played a bit longer),”

Mohammad Kaif first came to limelight when he scored 87 runs in the Natwest final. Mohammad Kaif also took his retirement on the same day, that gave him the recognition and made his space in the Indian cricket team. Talking about the same, Harbhajan Singh concluded :
“He must have thought of his decision (to quit on this day). That was his best innings. To be honest, as a cricketer, he was born on this day. It was that innings of 87 that got him noticed, people started talking about him. And now, he has decided to go out on this day,”
We couldn’t agree more with Harbhajan Singh.
