Former Indian cricketer and World Cup hero Gautam Gambhir is once again getting trolled by fans on social media after KL Rahul-led Punjab Kings choked while chasing the target. Chasing a total of 186 runs, the openers Mayank Agarwal and KL Rahul gave a flying start to their team. They formed a formidable partnership of 120-runs in 11.5 overs.
Everyone had already started celebrating Punjab Kings’ victory and there was no way that Rajasthan Royals would have stolen it, however, Rajasthan Royals’ Kartik Tyagi had other plans as he turned the game upside down with his brilliant last over spell.
Cricket fans and critics were left shocked to see the end result and the way Kartik turned the tables. He showed immense fighting spirit and kept composure. He bowled 5 dot balls in the last over with the defeat looking imminent.
Meanwhile, fans on social media went berserk after the nail-biting finish to the game, all thanks to the amazing spell by Kartik Tyagi. Fans also trolled Punjab Kings for choking and losing a game in such fashion. However, a section of people on Twitter started trolling Gautam Gambhir hilariously.
Well, for the unversed, Gautam Gambhir had earlier predicted that Punjab Kings would win the match easily. “Punjab Kings is favourites to win today’s match against Rajasthan Royals.”, he had said.
However, as his prediction went wrong, people started trolling him on Twitter with hilarious memes and jokes. But this isn’t the first time when Gambhir’s prediction has gone wrong. He often finds himself at the receiving end of trolling for his ‘jinxing abilities’. Meanwhile, there were many who came up with hilarious memes and jokes while trolling Gautam Gambhir after Punjab Kings’ failure.
