Here’s Why Shreyas Iyer Wasn’t Included The Playing XI For The Second Test: The Indian cricket team is currently locking its horns with South Africa in the ongoing second Test match at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg. Coming into the second match, the Indian cricket fans were left stunned with the changes in the playing XI of team India for the ongoing game.

While the Indian Test skipper Virat Kohli was ruled out of the ongoing second Test match as he is having an upper back spasm. In his absence, KL Rahul has been given the responsiblity to lead the Indian side for the ongoing series. In Virat’s absence, India’s veteran player Hanuma Vihari has been given an opportunity to feature in the playing XI.

However, it was the absence of Shreyas Iyer that left many bewildered. Shreyas Iyer, who recently impressed one and all with his performance in his debut series. Shreyas Iyer smashed an impressive century in the first innings of his first-ever Test match for team India to help them win the series against New Zealand.

He continued with his red-hot form as he smashed a half-century in the second innings. Considering his recent performances, everyone was expecting Iyer’s name in the Indian playing XI, however, he is yet to be featured in the ongoing 3-match Test series.

Meanwhile, fans on social media, who were expecting Shreyas Iyer in the playing XI, were left disappointed with his exclusion from the squad in the second Test match as well. However, there were many curious fans out there who wondered the reason behind his exclusion from the squad.

If reports are to be believed then Shreyas Iyer has been suffering from a stomach bug. “Shreyas Iyer was also ruled out of the 2nd Test against South Africa due to stomach bug,” reported a trustable source on Twitter.
