Updated ICC World Test Championship Points Table: Pat Cummins’ team have continued on their winning spree as they defeated Pakistan at home, whitewashing Shan Masood’s side 3-0 in the Test series. David Warner got a perfect farewell at his home ground, the SCG, with another home series win.
After starting the series with a 360-run win in Perth, Australia were given stiff competition for significant parts of the Tests in Melbourne and Sydney by Pakistan. But, eventually, and as expected, the hosts prevailed, by 79 runs and 8 wickets.
This win in Sydney, and the series win, saw Australia make big gains in the ICC Test team ranking and the WTC Points Table.
With Australia having a 2-0 lead in the series and India drawing the series in South Africa, Australia displaced India as the number 1 ranked ICC men’s Test team in the world.
India then climbed to the top of the World Test Championship Points Table with their bounce-back win in Cape Town. However, that position didn’t remain for long as with the win in Sydney, Australia have wrested back their top spot in the updated ICC WTC Points Table.
An incredible day as we farewelled a legend of our sport and secured another home series.
