The Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur will host the second ODI between India and New Zealand, scheduled for Saturday, January 21.
Shubman Gill’s terrific double century helped India win by 12 runs in Hyderabad, even as Michael Bracewell’s stunning century (140 off 78 balls) almost pulled off a heist.
In the second ODI, Rohit Sharma’s team will aim to clinch another home series – India haven’t lost a home series since March 2019 – while the Kiwis will aim to stop the Indian juggernaut for one more match and level the series.
IND vs NZ 2nd ODI pitch report, date, and time
Date: January 21at 1.30 IST
Venue: Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium, Raipur
IND vs NZ 2nd ODI pitch report:
There haven’t been many international matches played in Raipur. Although, Raipur has hosted the annual Road Safety T20 tournament, where the teams chasing have gained plenty of advantage of the dew. Expect another flat surface to give the fans more entertainment, and the chasing side to have a slight advantage of batting amid the dew.
IND vs NZ 2nd ODI predicted XI:
Although changes are unlikely to happen after only one match, both the sides can make one change each in their XIs: New Zealand might bring in Doug Bracewell for Shipley, and India can look to include Umran Malik.
Shami copped a blow on his hand in the first match, and might be rested for this one.
India probable XI:
Rohit Sharma (c), Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Ishan Kishan (wk), Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Washington Sundar, Shardul Thakur, Kuldeep Yadav, Shami/Umran, Mohammed Siraj
New Zealand probable XI:
Finn Allen, Devon Conway, Henry Nicholls, Daryl Mitchell, Tom Latham (c & wk), Glenn Phillips, Michael Bracewell, Mitchell Santner, Henry Shipley/Doug Bracewell, Lockie Ferguson, Blair Tickner
IND vs NZ 2nd ODI Match prediction: India to win the match
However, if New Zealand bats second, they are in for a great chance to level the series.
IND vs NZ 2nd ODI Dream XI Team and tips:
Pick bowlers from first innings, especially pacers who’d bowl in the death overs. Since Mohammed Siraj is in great form with the new ball, you may drop Finn Allen and even Conway and Nicholls. Rohit Sharma is batting aggressively, and is taking more risks, hence giving more chances to the fielders. So you can drop Sharma for Suryakumar.
