Shivam Dube, India’s seam bowling all-rounder, set the ground on fire in the ongoing second of three-match T20I series between India and West Indies at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram.
Before the match started, West Indies won the toss and decided to field first. Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul, both the Indian openers went back to pavilion early today after scoring 15 and 11 runs respectively.
Shivam Dube took over the West Indies’ bowlers as he was given the opportunity to bat at no.3 as the Indian skipper, Virat Kohli promoted him. Shivam Dube made full use of the opportunity given to him and gave a thrilling performance. He gave team India the much-needed momentum.

He went on to score 54 runs in 30 balls, smashing 3 fours and 4 sixes. However, the best moment of his knock came when he smashed West Indies’ bowler Kieron Pollard for three consecutive sixes in the ninth over.
Of the three consecutive sixes off Kieron Pollard, Shivam smashed the first six over deep square leg region and then followed it with another six over the backward leg region. He hit the third over extra-cover that went sailing over the ropes for the maximum. A little later after the 10th over, the all-rounder was caught out by Shimron Hetmyer at extra cover off Hayden Walsh.
Twitterati loved the thrilling performance of Shivam Dube. Fans flooded social media with their amazing reactions on twitter, appreciating Shivam Dube and also Virat Kohli, who gave him a chance to bat at no.3.

Virat Kohli giving opportunity to Shivam Dube at No.3 ahead of him, will surely boost the confidence of him!! Virat is in purple patch still vacated his batting position, mind you this isn’t the first time he did that!

Delight to see this move. This is captaincy and planning. Credit to @imVkohli and the team management. Shivam Dube made the most of it. This is how careers change.

Why Shivam Dube is out there when @WashingtonSund3 nailed the no 3 slot for TN in the SMAT is beyond me. The asshole of a captain in ruining a wonderful talent in his pursuit of some random nonsense.
