Ind vs WI: Sanju Samson Gets The Loudest Cheer On Field In His Home-Town Thiruvananthapuram

The ongoing second T20I match between India and West Indies is going on in Thiruvananthapuram, which is the home-town of Indian cricketer Sanju Samson. The right-handed batsman who made his T20I debut in the year 2015 is still waiting to feature in a game for India.

Sanju Samson made his comeback for a three-match series in India vs Bangladesh series after a long gap of four years. With Rohit Sharma leading the team and Virat Kohli on rest, it was speculated that Sanju Samson would play in the team as a specialist batsman. However, to everyone’s surprise, Sanju Samson was not included in the playing XI and warmed the bench only.

Sanju Samson wasn’t lucky enough to be picked in the playing XI  for the first T20I of the ongoing series against West Indies in Hyderabad. Sanju was initially not a part of the squad, however, with Shikhar Dhawan getting injured, he was included in the team.

Nonetheless, Sanju Samson received a warm welcome at his home-town, when he stepped out at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram. The audience was absolutely delighted after seeing Samson and made their emotions clear by chanting his name.  Sanju Samson was all smiles after receiving such a heart-warming welcome.

Indian coach Ravi Shastri was also delighted looking at the cheerful environment as he playfully tried to hit the batsman.

Meanwhile, West Indies won the toss and chose to field first.
