India vs Bangladesh 2017: This statement by Mushfiqur Rahim proves Virat Kohli’s greatness

Bangladesh’s captain was very disappointed with the performance they put up against India in the one-off Test against India in Hyderabad. Indian bowlers bowled brilliantly in the fourth innings and dismissed Bangladeshi batsmen for 250 runs and won the match by a big margin of 208 runs. While speaking to the media after the Test match, Mushfiqur Rahim said that Bangladesh needed a batsman like Virat Kohli to save the Test match. When a media person asked Mushfiqur Rahim if he agreed with Virat Kohli’s notion that “basic batting technique” would have saved the visitors from a defeat, the Bangladesh captain said that if they had a batsman of Virat Kohli’s class, then even four batsmen would have been enough for a draw.

This is what Mushfiqur Rahim said:

“If you had basic technique like Virat Kohli (has), then you would have scored at an average of 50 plus in Test matches. Then you won’t be needing even seven batsmen on the final day to save a match. Four would have been enough for a draw.

“Unfortunately, we don’t have a Virat Kohli in our team,” Mushfiqur Rahim said.

On the other hand, India’s skipper Virat Kohli said that he was expecting a better performance from Bangladesh in the fourth innings. He said that it was a good batting wicket and considering Bangladesh’s recent performance against New Zealand in which they scored 580 runs in one of the innings, he was expecting a tougher fight from them.

This is what Virat Kohli said:

“No. As I said it was a good wicket to bat on and if you play basic cricket, you can score runs on this kind of wicket,” said Virat Kohli.

“I didn’t expect them to get out for 200-250 runs. They do have good batsmen in their ranks. They scored 580 in NZ. You know this was a good wicket to bat on and they would have some confidence coming into the series,” he added.
