2) Cheteshwar Pujara
Far away from the lucrative contracts of the Indian Premier League, Cheteshwar Pujara was working hard to get back in form by playing County Cricket. Cheteshwar Pujara, who started his Test career by pilling hundreds after hundreds, is going through a lean patch and this series is going to be a very important one for India’s number 3.
3) Wriddhiman Saha
After living under the shadow of MS Dhoni and waiting for his turn to be India’s first choice wicketkeeper, for almost 5 years, Wriddhiman Saha’s moment has finally arrived. Saha will finally be India’s “first-choice’ wicketkeeper when India take the field against Bangladesh in the one-match Test series. Saha has been good in patches in his short Test career so far, but now is the time for the Bengal batsman to break the shackles.
4) Ishant Sharma
Ishant was unlucky to miss the ICC Cricket World Cup due to an injury, but he recovered just in time to play 6 matches for Sun Risers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League. Ishant Ishant has been on the international circuit for eight years now and Virat Kohli would be hoping that being the most experienced fast bowler in the squad, Ishant would be the leader of the attack and get him the early wickets with the new cherry.
5) Shikhar Dhawan
Shikhar Dhawan was in good form in the eighth edition of the Indian Premier League, but he hasn’t been in the best of forms in Test cricket. In his last three Test matches, Dhawan has scored only 167 runs with an average of over 27. With KL Rahul and a few other youngsters pushing for the opening spot, it is very important for Dhawan to score a big hundred and keep hold of his opening spot for the next Test series.
