On Saturday, the penultimate game of the league stage between Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians, at the Wankhede Stadium, will decide the fourth team to qualify for the IPL 2022 playoffs; Gujarat Titans, Rajasthan Royals and Lucknow Super Giants have cemented the top three spots.
The equation for Rishabh Pant’s Delhi Capitals, who have 14 points and a better NRR than RCB who have 16 points, is straightforward: defeat Mumbai and replaced RCB at number 4; if they lose, go home as then RCB will proceed to the playoffs.
Over the past couple of days, RCB fans – even the likes of Kohli, Faf du Plessis, and Dinesh Karthik – have rallied behind Rohit Sharma’s team showing their support for the five-time champions who are sitting at the 10th position and will be fighting to avoid the wooden spoon.
Fans have been speculating whether MI will play a weaker and changed side, perhaps giving rest to some of the players, as Rohit indicated after their previous match.

Co-owner of the franchise Parth Jindal, who is the Director of JSW Sports and Chairman of the Delhi Capitals, though, made it clear that they don’t want any favours from anyone, asserting that if the Capitals lose then they clearly don’t deserve to go in the playoffs.
“Never liked anyone doing any favors for us anyway – equation is simple – we win on Saturday and we get the opportunity of going further in @IPL – if we don’t – then we are out and don’t deserve to be in the playoffs, have full confidence in my boys – let’s do this @DelhiCapitals,” Parth Jindal tweeted a day before the MI-DC game.

So if you are in such a situation where DC’s chances hinge on some other team and if in case that team wins and DC make it to playoffs will your team abruptly leave the tournament?

Why is entire RCB fanbase crying man it is such a harmless tweet

MI are coming off a close 3-run loss to SRH. After the game, Rohit suggested they could rest some of the players in order to give chances to others.
Rohit Sharma had said after the loss against SRH in the last match.
