Rishabh Pant-led Delhi Capitals defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by 4 wickets at the Wankhede Stadium in the game last night and moved to No.6 on the IPL 2022 points table. Kuldeep Yadav starred with the ball before David Warner (42) laid the foundation for the chase of 147.
During the game last night, Delhi Capitals overcame a small collapse in the middle order all thanks to Rovman Powell (33 not out) and Axar Patel (24), who played useful cameos to chase down the target and provide their side with their fourth win of the season.
Splendid bowling. Time for some cautious, controlled batting

Earlier, after KKR were asked to bat first, they were jolted in the beginning when Chetan Sakariya dismissed Aaron Finch. Nitish Rana smashed a stunning half-century and Shreyas Iyer tried to lead the side from the front and help his side post a competitive total on the scoreboard. However, all his efforts were shattered by Kuldeep Yadav.
Kuldeep Yadav stole the show with the ball as he turned out to be the best bowler for DC, picking up 4 wickets in 3 overs for 14 runs. He has also been adjudged the Player of the Match award for his terrific performance.
Later, during the post-match presentation ceremony, Kuldeep Yadav, who is now the second-highest wicket-taker in the ongoing 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League with 17 wickets under his name, said that he is mentally stronger than before. He also said that he is not scared of failing anymore. He said:
“I might have become a better bowler, but I am mentally strong than before. When you fail in like you pick what you can improve on and that is something I had to improve. I don’t get scared of failing now.”
He added:
“I liked Russell’s wicket as I set him up, it was my plan and when there were a couple of dots I knew he would step out. This is the best IPL season for me. I am enjoying my bowling. I don’t think what the batter will do and what if I get hit. My focus has been to bowl the right line and lengths.”
While talking about picking Shreyas Iyer’s wicket, Kuldeep said: “I felt there was bat but thought the ball had touched the ground but when Rishabh went up then I was positive, it was an important wicket as Shreyas was batting well.”
Later, impressed with the post-match presentation interview with Kuldeep, Harsha Bhogle took to his official Twitter handle and wrote a special tweet for the bowler.
In his Tweet, he expressed how he is enjoying doing the post-match conferences with Kuldeep Yadav. He also expressed his happiness about the comeback of the sensational duo of “Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal”. He wrote:
“I am so enjoying doing these post match conversations with Kuldeep Yadav. His confidence is coming through and I am so happy for him. #Kulcha is back.”
