IPL 2022: Here’s How Suresh Raina Reacted After CSK’s Win

Former Chennai Super Kings batsman Suresh Raina was utterly elated as his long-time teammate and friend MS Dhoni completed another chase, taking CSK to a thrilling victory against Mumbai Indians on Thursday night at the DY Patil Stadium.

Set a target of 156, the defending champs found themselves struggling at 106-6 before MS Dhoni took off. With 16 runs needed off the last four balls, Dhoni smashed Jaydev Unadkat for 6, 4, 2, 4, taking CSK over the line and remaining unbeaten on 28 in just 13 balls. He was well supported by Dwaine Pretorius, who scored 22 off 14 and took some pressure off of Dhoni with two boundaries in the 19th over to Bumrah.

Fans went berserk as Dhoni once again finished off in style to clinch his side a nail-biting win, and also get CSK two crucial points so that they remain alive in their campaign.

Amid the euphoria on Twitter, CSK stalwart Suresh Raina, who is now a commentator in the IPL 2022 after going unsold in the mega-auction, hailed Dhoni’s special knock with a special tweet. Raina reckoned it was a much-needed knock from Dhoni as CSK were nearing a defeat.

“The most awaited match of the tournament #CSKvMI. A much needed innings by our very own @msdhoni bhai at the end, always a delight to watch! Congratulations to the whole #CSK team on another massive win,” Suresh Raina tweeted.

Asked to bat first, Mumbai once again had a poor start with both the openers dismissed for ducks. Mukesh Choudhary snapped three wickets in the powerplay and was rewarded with the Man of the Match award. Tilak Varma once again showed his brilliant character and high maturity to take MI to 155 with a half-century, supported by the likes of Suryakumar, Pollard, Shokeen, and Unadkat.

However, that wasn’t enough for MI who now have lost their 7th match of the season and remain the only winless team of the tournament.
