IPL 2022: Chennai Super Kings is one of the most successful teams in the history of IPL, having won the prestigious trophy four times. They won their fourth title of IPL last year after beating Kolkata Knight Riders in the final showdown. Much to fans’ delight, Chennai managed to retain their core players at the IPL 2022 mega-auctions.
Ruturaj Gaikwad was retained by the franchise ahead of the IPL Mega Auctions 2022. The young talent turned out to be the biggest revelation for the Chennai-based franchise. He had a season to remember last year. He was nothing short of outstanding in the IPL 2021. He played a crucial role in CSK’s title glory last year.
Gaikwad was consistent all throughout the last season. He provided the team with stellar starts in the first half of the innings throughout the league. He, in fact, was the highest run-scorer in the tournament last year. He won the Orange cap. In the 16 games he played, he managed to score 635 runs at an average of 45.36 and a strike rate of 136.27.
Ruturaj is expected to continue with his brilliance with the bat in the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League as well.
