At the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by seven wickets to continue their unbeaten streak in the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL). Ravindra Jadeja and Devon Conway stole the show.

With this victory, CSK becomes the third team this season to have eight points and win four games. Despite not having played at the site for the previous three seasons, CSK has now won each of their three home games in the competition and is once again making the Chepauk.

MS Dhoni and Harsha Bhogle had a good time interacting and talking after the game.

The statement made by the CSK captain thanking the Chennai crowd for their support while acknowledging that this was the ‘final phase’ of his career drew the attention of cricket lovers.

“Whatever said and done, it is the final phase of my career, important to enjoy it. It feels good to be here. They have given a lot of love and affection. They always stay late to listen to me,” said Dhoni in the post-match presentation.
Talking about the match, Dhoni revealed that he was hesitating to bowl first after winning the toss. “I was hesitant to bat second. Had the feeling there won’t be much dew. Overall the middle overs was the setup. Fast bowlers bowled very well in the last few overs,” Dhoni added.’

Jadeja picked up three wickets while only allowing 22 runs in four overs as CSK held SRH to a subpar total of 134. In response, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway put up an 87-run opening stand. Conway’s unmatched performance of 77 in 57 balls allowed CSK to cross the finish line with eight balls to spare while Ajinkya Rahane and Ambati Rayudu were ineffective.
