The MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings have already kickstarted their preparations for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 campaign eyeing a solid comeback from their forgetful campaign last season.
CSK had a forgettable season last year, following which, ace allrounder Ravindra Jadeja was dumped as Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain last year and Dhoni had to return back to his job as the skipper midway through the tournament as the former had failed to deliver.
MS Dhoni Comforted Ravindra Jadeja
Jadeja had reportedly walked out of the team hotel in Mumbai, however, he appears to have patched up his relations with the franchise after a long and frank chat with Mahendra Singh Dhoni, as per a report.
Jadeja’s removal from captaincy and Dhoni’s stern comments seemed to have upset Jadeja, however, a conversation with Dhoni and also with the CEO Kasi Viswanathan has now cleared the “air of misunderstanding”, as per a report by Cricbuzz.
As per the same report, Jadeja’s interaction with the CSK authorities took place before he joined the side in Chennai. It is learned that the franchise’s senior members explained to Ravindra Jadeja that the captaincy was turning out to be a burden for him and was hurting his performance and Jadeja understood. However, the franchise didn’t reveal any further details about Jadeja’s one-on-one interactions with Dhoni and Viswanathan.
Jadeja had the worst season last year, scoring just 116 runs at an average of 19 and claiming a mere five wickets while going for over seven runs per over.
Meanwhile, ahead of the upcoming season of the IPL, from what has been shared by the franchise on social media, the mood in the camp is upbeat. Recently, CSK via their official social media handles shared a video of Jadeja’s reunion with Dhoni at CSK’s practice session on March 23, which showed the legendary duo in a happy banter.
