In preparation for the next Indian Premier League season, hard-hitting all-rounder Tim David has joined the Mumbai Indians camp on Saturday (IPL). As soon as the right-handed batter checked into the team hotel, he was given a warm welcome and presented with a Marathi turban, also called a Pheta.
The youngster has been one of the most devastating players in Twenty20 cricket recently, with decisive displays in many franchise events. His first taste of the IPL was in the second half of the 2021 season with the Royal Challengers Bangalore, albeit he only got into one game during that time. The cricketer, who was born in Singapore, signed with the Mumbai Indians in preparation for IPL 2022 for a staggering price of INR 8.25 crores.

After David scored 186 runs in eight games with a strike rate of 216.28 for the five-time champions, the organisation decided to keep him for IPL 2023. He will replace Kieron Pollard as the team’s batting coach next year, and for good reason: he’s a natural fit.
Tim David made his Australia debut against India in 2022

Meanwhile, the 27-year-performances old’s for various franchises throughout the world led to his selection for Australia’s T20 World Cup 2022 roster. The three-match Twenty20 series against India was his debut for his country.
The right-hander scored a fifty off of only 25 balls in the third game in Hyderabad, helping Australia recover from an early deficit to post a commanding 186.
Tim David’s performance in the T20 World Cup wasn’t quite as stunning, but he still showed glimpses of potential success. The fate of the Mumbai Indians rides on his shoulders as a late-order slugger.
Last year, Rohit Sharma and company came in last place in the points standings, so they will be looking to win their sixth crown this time around. On Sunday (April 2) in Bengaluru, they’ll kick off their season against the Royal Challengers Bangalore.
