With less than a month to go for the IPL 2024, the defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) may have a cause for worry as Rachin Ravindra and Devon Conway have suffered minor injuries in the ongoing T20I series against Australia at home.
While Rachin Ravindra was not named in the XI, Devon Conway suffered an injury during the match.
New Zealand are hosting Australia for a three-T20I series. Mitchell Marsh’s team won the first two matches and sealed the series with one game to go, before the two teams contest in a 2-Test series.
CSK pair Rachin Ravindra, Devon Conway suffer injuries one month away from the IPL 2024
Rachin Ravindraa missed the second T20I on Friday after complaining of pain in his left knee following his fifty in the first T20I. With the Test series coming up, New Zealand decided to give him a rest from the second game.
Devon Conway suffered an in-game injury in the second T20I. While fieding during Australia’s innings, Conway suffered an injury on his finger. Fortunately, Conway’s finger injury is not a fracture, revealed the New Zealand Twitter handle.
The Black Caps tweeted, “UPDATE | An X-ray has cleared Devon Conway of an obvious fracture to his left thumb and he has returned to the ground.
He will be further reviewed tomorrow.
There’s no current update on whether he will bat”
Conway didn’t come out to bat in New Zealand’s loss by 72 runs.
Rachin Ravindra was bought by CSK in the IPL 2024 auction for the price of INR 1.8 crore. Many felt it was steal given Ravindra’s superb form during the World Cup 2023 and his ability to play spin bowling. The southpaw also is a handy left-arm finger spinner. Meanwhile, Conway was the third-highest run-scorer in IPL 2023, and was the Man of the Match in the final against Gujarat Titans.
