Ritika Sajdeh’s Comment Attacking MI Coach Mark Boucher – Rohit Sharma’s wife Ritika Sajdeh has made his views and feeling very clear about the Mumbai Indians franchise replacing Rohit as their captain with Hardik Pandya, who returned to MI after two seasons at the Gujarat Titans.
Recently, Ritika Sajdeh left a seriously stern comment on a video in which MI head coach Mark Boucher explained the reasons for the franchise opting to put Hardik Pandya at the helm ahead of the IPL 2024 auction, bringing an end to the decade-long captaincy stint of Rohit Sharma where he led them to 5 IPL trophies.
Speaking on the Smash Sports podcast, Mark Boucher said that the decision by the franchise was “purely a cricketing decision,” pointing out that MI are now in a “transition phase”.
Mark Boucher said, “I think it was purely a cricketing decision. We saw the window period to get Hardik back as a player. For me it’s a transition phase. A lot of people don’t understand in India, people get quite emotional, but you know you take the emotions away from it. I think it’s just more of a cricketing decision that was made and I do think it is going to bring the best out of Rohit as a person as a player. Just let him go out and enjoy and score some good runs.”
Under the video of Boucher explaining MI’s decision, Rohit Sharma’s wife, Ritika Sajdeh, lashed out with a comment: “So many things wrong with this.”
MI fans who were already upset with the franchise rallied behind Ritika to show her and Rohit their support.
Here’s how fans reacted to Ritika Sajdeh’s comment under Boucher’s explanation of sacking Rohit Sharma:
Boucher did make valid points. Rohit will be 37 this April and he had two ordinary seasons with the bat. In the last two IPL seasons, Rohit scored 600 runs combined at an average of 20 and a strike rate of 126 with only two fifties. MI has also not reached a final in the last three seasons.
