Former India captains MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli shared a heart-warming, funny moment before the start of the CSK vs RCB match on Friday in Chennai.
The IPL 2024 kick-started with two of the biggest teams, CSK and RCB, clashing, and their two biggest players, MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli, engaging in an adorable moment near pitchside.
RCB captain Faf du Plessis had won the toss and elected to bat first. Out came RCB openers Faf and Kohli, while Ruturaj Gaikwad led CSK on the field.
MS Dhoni was helping Gaikwad with the field setting when Kohli came near Dhoni and both shared a few words and it was followed by a laughter. Kohli put his hand on Dhoni’s shoulder and both looked in a jolly mood ahead of what was potentially an intensified encounter. Kohli then walked off to the batting crease.
The video of this moment between the two Indian and IPL greats has gone viral on social media and fans are swooning over the duo.

Ruturaj Gaikwad revealed that Dhoni had told him a week ago about his decision to hand him the captaincy, although he had already hinted Gaikwad last year that he is in line to take the leadership duties.
Gaikwad said, “Feel privledged. But I want to try and be in my shoes, not fill anybody’s shoes. (On captaincy) I got to know last week, but Mahi bhai hinted at it last year.”
Faf won the toss and chose to bat.
