On Friday, Indian all-rounder and two-time world cup champion Yusuf Pathan, who made his debut in 2007, announced that he has decided to retire from all forms of cricket. Yusuf shared a heartwarming note on Twitter, where he expressed his gratitude towards his family, friends, all the captains he played under, the various teams he played for, his fans, and the entire country for their support. He wrote:
“The time has come today for me to put a full stop to this innings of my life. I officially announce retirement from all forms of the game,”
“Winning two World Cups for India and lifting Sachin Tendulkar on my shoulders were some of the best moments of my career,” he added.

Sharing the note, Yusuf thanked everyone for supporting him throughout. He wrote:

As soon as Yusuf Pathan announced his retirement from all forms of cricket, social media was flooded with tributes and amazing reactions from the fans and cricket experts. Several cricketers and cricket experts including the likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Harsha Bhogle, took to their social media and thanked Yusuf for contributing to Indian cricket.
Among many, former Indian cricketer and brother of Yusuf Pathan, Irfan also took to his Twitter and wrote a heartfelt tweet for his brother. In his tweet, Irfan hailed Yusuf’s brilliance and expressed how bowlers used to be afraid of him.
