24-year-old keeper-batsman Ishan Kishan made his Test debut in Dominica, replacing KS Bharat in the line-up. India won the match by a big margin of an innings and 141 runs, taking a 1-0 lead in the 2-Test series.
While Ishan Kishan didn’t get to make any impact with the bat – he batted for 20 balls and remained not out on 1 before India declared their first and only innings of the match – he kept the fans hooked with some of his entertaining jibes from behind the stumps in what was rather a dull, one-sided game that lasted three days with India dominating throughout.
Ishan Kishan produced some really hilarious one-liners from behind the stumps which were caught in the stump mic and went viral on social media with fans having a good laugh. His comedy stuff as a wicket-keeper reminded fans of Rishabh Pant’s antics as a keeper.
He also abused a couple of times in the game. One was when West Indies’ number 11 Jomel Warrican was batting. Warrican’s stance was such that he came across the off-stump very much that blocked Ishan Kishan’s view of the bowler and the ball delivered, which made it difficult for the keeper to see the ball.
‘Muh ke saamne aa ja rha hai’: Ishan Kishan to Warrican

After one of the deliveries from Jadeja, again on which Warrican moved significantly across the off-stump, blocking Kishan’s view of the ball, the wicket-keeper was heard saying some funny stuff.
Kishan told his teammates standing near him: “Ma cho*d diya keeping ki. Muh ke saamne aa ja rha hai” (roughly translated to “He has messed up my keeping. He is coming right in front of the face”)
This went viral on social media leaving fans in splits.
