India’s star bowler Jasprit Bumrah continues with his red-hot form. In his latest exhibition of speed and skill, Bumrah wreaked havoc on the Sri Lankan batters in the just-concluded pink-ball day and night Test match at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
Playing his third pink-ball Test and the second one at home, Bumrah played an instrumental role in helping team India to defeat Sri Lankans by 238 runs.
Jasprit finished with 5 for 24 in the first innings that helped the Indian side fold Sri Lanka for just 109 runs in the first innings. It was also his maiden wicket haul at home and eighth in his 29-match career so far.
With this, Bumrah joined a magnificent Test list after his amazing performance. He has equaled the record of Kapil Dev, who is the only cricketer to have as many five-wicket hauls among Indian seamers at the same point in his career.
Not just this, Jasprit Bumrah also became the first-ever Indian bowler to record match-winning five-wicket hauls in the longest format of the game in all the five continents – Asia, Africa, Europe, Americas, Oceania.
Jasprit Bumrah is the first Indian bowler to take a match winning Test five-wicket haul in all five continents (Asia, Africa, Europe, Americas, Oceania).
Overall the fourth bowler after Graham McKenzie, Jason Gillespie and Dale Steyn.#INDvSL

During the post-match presentation, Jasprit Bumrah talked about his performance, where he reflected on his splendid burst in the first innings. He said:
“It feels good (to take wickets). You always want to play all the games as much as possible, but when you play all the three formats, you have to look after your body. Sometimes you miss out. This was the time that I got an opportunity and was able to contribute towards the team’s success. It’s always a great feeling. So I’m no different now; I am very happy that I was able to contribute. And will continue that,’’
Meanwhile, Jasprit Bumrah has now joined the Mumbai Indians camp and is all set for the upcoming 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League, which will kickstart from March 26.
